The Washington Football Team was fined a record $10 million after an investigation by the NFL into reports of a toxic and abusuve workplace culture at the franchise.
According the the NFL's independent counsel investigation, bullying, intimidation, and sexual harassment "frequently took place" and employees and staff experience a culture of fear.
"Ownership and senior management paid little or no attention" to the issues the report alleges.
The fine was levied after the league investigated claims that high-ranking figures within the team sexually harassed and verbally abused female employees repeatedly and rampantly over the last decade.
Widespread allegations of abuse and sexual harassment were revealed after a bombshell Washington Post report.
The record $10 million fine will be distributed to organizations "committed to character education, anti-bullying, healthy relationships and related topics." according to the NFL.
