The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has announced the multiple locations where the 2026 World Cup will take place.

In four years, 48 countries will compete for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in various cities around the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The locations will include 16 venues across 11 US cities, three in Mexico and two in Canada.

"Stellar line-up of #WorldCup 2026 Host Cities unveiled: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles/SoFi Stadium, Mexico City, Miami, Monterrey, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto & Vancouver," announced FIFA in a Tweet.

The upcoming 2026 World Cup will mark the first time the football tournament has been hosted by three countries.

FIFA's Chief Competitions and Events Officer Colin Smith said, "It's been an incredibly competitive process. All the cities have been amazing. This was a very, very difficult choice."

The US previously hosted the World Cup in 1994, while Mexico hosted it back in 1970 and 1986.

A large portion of the US arenas to host the World Cup also host National Football League (NFL) teams on a regular basis.

The Canadian Football League and Major League Soccer play at the stadiums in Canada, while Liga MX teams play in the intended arenas in Mexico.
