Wales qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years after beating Ukraine on June 5.

Wales secured their place in the World Cup after winning 1-0 against Ukraine in a play-off in Cardiff.

Ukrainian skipper Andriy Yarmolenko deflected Gareth Bale's free-kick into the visiting goal, earning Wales the point.

Bale called the victory "the greatest result in the history of Welsh football."

"It's the last piece of the puzzle that we wanted and we are going to celebrate it as it deserves. It is a dream, I have worked to achieve this since I debuted," Bale also said.

Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford said on Twitter, "It's amazing what we can achieve when the whole country comes together!"

"Commiserations to Ukraine — despite our differences on the field, Wales stands with you," Drakeford added.

Wales will share Group B with the United States, Iran, and England at the World Cup in late November.
